Chando is a resident of New York City. Chando was an undergraduate at Manhattan College when she became an actress. Chando is well known for her role as Maddie Coleman from As the World Rotates, a tv soap opera she starred in between 2005 between 2005 and 2007. The show also aired in the final episode in 2009 for a number of months. Alexandra first made her debut as an actor in 2002, as she portrayed Jenna Harper on the TV Series House Blend. She also played Maddie Coleman in the CBS TV soap As the World Turns for three years. Chando first appeared on TV with True life (an American documentary) late in 2009. Then, in 2009 she was a guest on Sherri, a TV show. In addition, she appeared in two episodes of American comedy-drama series Glory Daze as Annabelle.
